Our Italian mated queens are from swarm cells of breeding colonies (not queen grafting and queen-rearing practices) & are naturally open-mated. If you are an experienced beekeeper you know the difference. If you are a new beekeeper just be advised that queens from swarm cells are way superior to regular queens raised through the queen grafting & rearing method.
Unlike commercial beekeepers where queens are banked for weeks until they are sold, we never bank our queens, we never keep them in a cage until a few hours before you pick them up. They arrive ready to begin laying eggs in your colony. Our queen breeder colonies are selected based on a high yield of honey production, brood pattern, and quick spring build-up.
Our queen production aims for stock that is gentle, easy to work with, and build-ups abundantly for honey making. If you are a beginner or hobbyist or if you are a seasoned commercial beekeeper, our mated queens will be just right for you!
Queens are caught fresh for optimum acceptance rates – we don’t Queen bank
Advice and support to replace a queen or split a hive is offered to beekeepers who may be buying a queen bee for the first time, or are building confidence with managing their colonies.
Attention: We do not guarantee the acceptance of queens. It is because the process of introducing a new queen to a colony and accepting her by the bees heavily depends on various factors including (not limited) your skills, the method you use, the condition of your hive, the season, availability of food, day & night temperature, the mood of your bees, etc... When dealing with nature, it is not possible to guarantee.
